Cursillo in Central Texas
Austin Presbyterian Cursillo (APC) is a three-day Christian retreat that allows Presbyterians to reflect upon, and renew their faith in Jesus Christ. Austin Presbyterian Cursillo has been conducted twice each year for nearly fifteen years. Our retreats normally occur in February and September at facilities in the Hill Country west of Austin, Texas.
Cursillo is conducted at a retreat to allow participants to retreat -- away from the daily stresses of our fast-paced lives. These three days are for reflection; time with God and time of renewed faith and spirit.
If you're curious about Cursillo, take a look at our What is Cursillo page. Hundreds of Texans have participated in Austin Presbyterian Cursillo. Take a look at some of their reactions.
History
The Cursillo movement began in Spain and Mexico, then traveled into Texas and spread throughout the US. Other denominations have similar retreats with names such as Walk to Emmaus, Pilgrimage, Awakening, and Tres Dias among others. If you'd like to attend a Cursillo retreat elsewhere, the Presbyterian Cursillo web site has lists of locations and contact information.
Austin Presbyterian Cursillo also facilitates a retreat for high school students called Celebration.
